The Virtual Academy is a hosted network for the delivery of information, educational training and related services that target very specific areas of interest in accessible and convenient formats.  It includes areas such as diversity training, supplier diversity, entrepreneurship, small business development, wellness, professional or trade certification programs, research and training, and other areas of basic and higher education. Its partnership approach results in a conduit between institutions of higher learning, schools, and/or corporations for the exchange of resources necessary for higher learning, understanding, and expression.

The Worldwide Virtual Academy (WVA) was created in response to the growing need for new access to education using technology, innovation, and entrepreneurial expression. Through the creation of virtual academies, a natural conduit is created to share resources, experience, and communications with each other. The WVA is an organization that supports flexible lifestyles in the pursuit for education, knowledge, and licensure worldwide and that uses blended learning techniques.

The WVA is a collection of virtual academies created as conduits for the exchange of education, research and training products and programs to and from institutions of higher learning, schools, professional associations and corporations. WVA acknowledges that learning is a lifelong process, focusing on all cycles of learning --- K-12, graduates/undergraduates through elder adult learning.

Though WVA’s primary objective is to broaden access to quality education through blended learning approaches, it fosters enterprising/commercial ventures and technology based endeavors.
